Maputi

Maputi is a Zimbabwean snack made from popped white maize kernels. Sun-dried white maize is added to a cast iron container and sealed with a heavy locked lid. The canister is rotated over a heat source increasing the temperature and pressure inside the kernels. Once the lid is opened, the release of pressure pops the kernels in a fantastic BOOM, giving the icon popcorn enjoyed by many.
